Description

Infokiosks aim to make information more accessible, enabling users to quickly find answers to their questions without the need for human assistance. They can improve efficiency, reduce queues and provide users with an interactive experience at their own pace.

Contacta IL-A42 is an inductophone loop amplifier module designed to be built into infokiosks, information totems or self-service checkouts. It allows an easy addition to the device being built to support people with hearing impairment who have a T-coil hearing aid.

The amplifier accepts a standard 1V RMS line audio signal (typical mini PC sound card output). It is also possible to take a signal from a low-ohm speaker line or even a 100V line. It has a duplicated audio input/output which simplifies integration with an existing audio source and audio amplifier. The module has an AGC function - automatic output level control, manual adjustment is not needed.
A ready-made IL-AE99 induction loop or a loop of insulated wire made in the frame around the display is connected to the amplifier output.

The module is powered by a 14V DC 2A mains power supply. The ready-made loop or cable is fitted as standard around the display, the effective range is approximately 1.2m.

The IL-RX20 receiver with headphones is used to test the installed loop. When the headphones are fitted, the test person hears what a hearing impaired person would hear with a T-coil instrument.

Off-the-shelf IL- A42 modules built into a small housing together with the loop are also available. If there is space in the device to mount such a set, the installation simply involves cutting a hole, connecting the signal and power supply. The PF version, which is flush with the housing, and the PB version, which is mounted on the housing, have IP55 protection and can be used in devices designed for outdoor operation.
