TRS connectors, known as 'jacks', are the most popular connectors used in audio technology, both in the professional and consumer segments.

A TRS connector should demonstrate durability with repeated connection and disconnection cycles, provide a good contact with the highest possible electrical conductivity, as well as be resistant to corrosion and unfavourable atmospheric conditions (e.g. increased humidity). It is also very important that the cable is mechanically fastened to the connector in a robust way that does not damage the insulation.
