Zoned Sound System for Schools and Universities

System Overview

A modern zoned sound system for schools and universities enables efficient management of communication and audio distribution across different areas of a facility. The solution is based on the Intusonic HMA74 audio matrix, allowing independent control of four audio zones, ensuring clear voice announcements, school bell scheduling, and background music playback.

The core of the system is the audio matrix, which provides flexible assignment of audio sources to selected zones such as corridors, classrooms, common areas, and outdoor spaces.

Voice Announcements and Zone Management

Voice announcements - including daily messages, organizational information, and emergency notifications - can be broadcast using the Intusonic HPA41 zone paging microphone. The user can select one or multiple zones, significantly improving control over communication distribution within the building.

Automation and Audio Playback

The system also supports automated audio playback. With the Waves System AP420 network player, it is possible to broadcast scheduled content such as school bells and informational messages according to a predefined timetable.

The device also enables background music playback from internet radio or stored playlists, making it ideal for common areas such as lobbies, libraries, and cafeterias.

To further extend system functionality, selected zones can be equipped with the Bluesound Professional B100S streamer, allowing playback from streaming services. This solution is particularly suitable for relaxation areas, representative university spaces, or modern student zones.

Integration of Microphones and External Sources

An additional element that enhances system flexibility is the Intusonic HZE11x wall panel with a line input and volume control. It allows quick connection of external audio sources such as wireless microphones - for example the Relacart UR-290D MH/T system.

This solution is especially effective in multi-purpose rooms, sports halls, and auditoriums, where presentations, ceremonies, and school events take place. On a daily basis, the zone can operate in standard mode (background music and central announcements), while during events it enables local use of microphones without interfering with the entire system.

Speakers for Different School Zones

Depending on the type of space, the system can be equipped with various types of loudspeakers tailored to specific applications.

Classrooms and Corridors

  • Intusonic 4FP40R - wall-mounted speakers ideal for corridors and classrooms, providing excellent speech intelligibility and the ability to play music

Common Areas

  • FAMA 8 - ceiling speakers designed for discreet sound reinforcement in lobbies, reception areas, and shared spaces

Quiet Zones

  • DSPPA DSP5011 - low-power ceiling speakers suitable for quiet areas such as restrooms and administrative offices

Outdoor Areas

  • DSPPA DSP6050 - weather-resistant speakers designed for outdoor spaces such as courtyards, entrances, and sports fields

Key Benefits for Educational Facilities

  • Efficient communication across the entire facility
  • Independent control of multiple audio zones
