Audio over IP (AoIP) – Audio Distribution via IP Network
Audio over IP (AoIP) is a modern technology that enables the transmission of analog or digital audio signals over an IP network. By leveraging network infrastructure such as CAT5e/6 LAN, AoIP allows for the long-distance transmission of audio while maintaining high signal quality. This solution is particularly suitable for professional environments where reliability and audio quality are crucial, such as in radio studios, recording facilities, concert halls, and AV installations.
Unlike traditional point-to-point connections, AoIP allows audio signals to pass through network switches and even utilize fiber optics, enabling transmission over distances of up to several dozen kilometers. Multiple audio connections can be created within a single LAN network, and it is also possible to broadcast a single audio stream to multiple receivers simultaneously, simplifying the management of audio systems in larger installations.
AoIP is an ideal solution for professional audio systems, offering flexibility, scalability, and reliability with minimal cabling costs compared to traditional analog systems.
