Description

Assistive Listening System for the Hearing Impaired at the Stakeholder Service Desk and Reading Room in Courts, in accordance with the Model of an Accessible Court study

The Model of an Accessible Court study, commissioned by the Ministry of Justice, provides guidelines and recommendations for improving the accessibility of judicial public buildings for people with disabilities, including those with hearing impairments.

The document defines three levels of accessibility that a building can achieve.

Regarding the Customer Service Office (BOI) and the Reading Room, it is recommended that at least one assistive listening device - such as an induction loop—be installed to help hearing-impaired individuals better communicate with staff.

Our product range includes ready-to-use solutions that meet the accessibility requirements of BOI stations at Levels 1, 2, and 3.

Level 2 accessibility requires the installation of at least one fixed induction loop or a public address intercom system that also supports individuals with hearing loss who do not use hearing aids with a T-coil.

The Contacta STS-K series intercoms, when supplemented with an induction loop cable, provide support for both groups: people with T-coil-equipped hearing aids and those with hearing loss who do not use such aids. Models are available for all types of workstations, whether placed on a tabletop or installed on or near a safety screen - if one separates the employee from the client. The induction loop can be mounted beneath the counter or integrated into signage that indicates its presence.

Equipping the BOI station with a Contacta intercom with induction loop ensures compliance with Level 2 accessibility, and - when combined with other building-wide requirements - contributes to achieving Level 3 accessibility.
