Description
The purpose of an intercom installed outside a medical facility is to facilitate communication between patients and healthcare professionals, while adhering to specific safety regulations.
However, for hearing-impaired individuals, understanding a caller through a small loudspeaker amid street noise can be particularly challenging.
Contacta’s IL-EL42-PB integrated induction loop is an ideal solution for people with hearing aids or T-coil implants. The module can be easily integrated into existing intercom systems. Its IP55-rated housing is designed for direct surface mounting next to the intercom, and a PF version is also available for flush mounting.
Both versions are marked with the T symbol. The input signal is taken from the line output; if the intercom does not have one, the signal is tapped directly from the speaker terminals. The amplifier features fully isolated inputs, ensuring safe and trouble-free operation with any type of intercom. The built-in AGC (Automatic Gain Control) continuously adjusts the gain to the signal level, making installation and setup straightforward. The module requires only a 14V DC / 2.1A power supply and an audio connection from the door entry unit or video intercom.
The induction loop meets the IEC 60118-4 standard for bandwidth. The effective operating range is up to 120 cm from the housing, ensuring full user comfort when standing in front of the intercom. The recommended installation height is 170 cm above ground level.
