Description
RDL RU-RN04 - Dante/AES67 network interface for 4 microphone/line XLR outputs with DSP
The RDL RU-RN04 from the RACK-UP series is a professional audio interface that converts 4 Dante/AES67 network channels into 4 analog microphone or line outputs. The device is designed for commercial and industrial installations - it can be mounted in rack cabinets, technical rooms, at conference tables, on shelves, and on mounting walls. Each output is powered by a built-in 4-channel mixer, which receives all 4 network inputs. Independent level control in the mixers and programmable DSP filters make the RU-RN04 much more versatile than a typical format converter. Ultra-low latency of 1ms (digital-analog) and A/D conversion at 24-bit resolution with a sampling rate of 48kHz or 96kHz ensure high sound quality. Each output is available on an XLR socket or detachable terminal block, with a nominal line level of +4dBu symmetrically for -18dBFS. The interface can be powered via PoE (Power over Ethernet) or an external 24V DC power supply, available separately. In factory configuration, each Dante/AES67 channel passes unchanged through the DSP filter to the assigned analog output mixer, and then through 3 DSP filters, a polarity reversal switch, and an output attenuator that functions as a volume control.
Functionality
- conversion of 4 Dante/AES67 channels to 4 microphone or line outputs in factory configuration
- 4x4 mixing matrix with DSP filters - flexible system design
- 4-channel mixer on each output - level adjustment for each source from full level (unity) to off (OFF)
- ability to create mixes, e.g., mono sum from stereo source
- 1 DSP filter for each Dante/AES67 input
- 3 DSP filters for each analog output
- filter type selection: none (signal pass), high-pass, low-pass, shelving high/low, notch (boost/cut)
- all DSP filters fully programmable - ability to set multiple filters for the same function to achieve higher-order filtering
- switchable 180° polarity inverter (“phase”) on each output
- switchable line/microphone attenuator on each output - for powering microphone inputs of the mixer or amplifier
- analog output adjustment in 1dB steps below +4dBu (line level) or -46dBu (microphone level)
- output attenuator adjustable in 1dB steps from 0 to -63dB, then OFF
- remote volume control using compatible RDL controllers (available separately)
- configuration of all parameters in RDL CONSOLE software (version 3.0 or newer)
