Description

RDL RU-NFDP - Dante network interface and distributor for twisted pair Format-A with 3 RJ45 outputs and a balanced AUX output, powered by PoE

The RDL RU-NFDP is a Dante network interface for RDL devices operating in the Format-A transmission system over twisted pair. It receives four Dante audio channels from the network. Three of them are directed to pairs A, B, and C of Format-A and distributed to three RJ45 outputs, while the fourth is sent to a balanced AUX line output. This allows for easy transfer of audio from the Dante network to Format-A receivers located throughout the facility, using standard CAT-x cabling. Each RJ45 output provides up to 200mA, thus powering connected remote Format-A receivers. The device can be powered by an external 24V DC power supply or via PoE. The 24-bit digital-to-analog processing with RDL's analog filtering ensures high sound quality. When the Dante audio inputs are inactive, the outputs are automatically muted. Green signal LEDs for each channel, along with network synchronization and power indicators, facilitate system setup and monitoring. The interface has a metal housing and can be mounted in a rack, on a surface, or set up freestanding.

Functionality

  • 4 Dante channels: 3 channels for Format-A pairs A, B, and C, and 1 channel for AUX output
  • 3 Format-A outputs on RJ45 connectors, transmission over CAT-x cable
  • Balanced AUX line output, nominal level +4dBu
  • Powering remote Format-A receivers: up to 200mA per RJ45 output
  • Dante network: Ethernet 100Mb/s, RJ45 socket with connection and speed indicators
  • Sampling frequency 44.1kHz and 48kHz (default 48kHz), 24-bit resolution
  • Format-A bandwidth: 20Hz-20kHz (±0.75dB), THD+N <0.1%, dynamic range above +4dBu over 18dB
  • AUX bandwidth: 20Hz-20kHz (±0.5dB), THD+N <0.1%
  • 24-bit C/A processing with RDL analog filtering
  • Automatic muting of outputs when Dante inputs are inactive
  • Green signal LEDs for each of the 4 channels, network synchronization and power indicators
  • Power supply 24V DC, 120mA plus connected loads, or PoE (IEEE 802.3af, Class 0)
  • Recommended power supplies: PS-24AS (USA) or PS-24AX (international version)
