Description

RDL DDB-BN22 - wall-mounted bidirectional Dante 2x2 interface with XLR microphone/line inputs and outputs, PoE power, black

The RDL DDB-BN22 is a wall-mounted Dante network interface that operates in both directions: sending audio to the network and receiving it from it. It has two XLR microphone/line inputs that convert signals from microphones or line sources into two Dante transmission channels. It also features two XLR outputs that receive two Dante channels and provide them at microphone or line level. This allows microphones to be connected at a single wall point and the signal to be routed, for example, to a recorder, camera, or sound system. The interface is powered via PoE and fits into a standard double electrical box or an RDL WB-2U box. No special software is needed for configuration, as each input has microphone/line mode switches, 48V phantom power, and gain controls, while each output has a microphone/line level switch. Discrete microphone preamps, 24-bit A/C and C/A processing, and RDL analog filtering ensure clean, low-noise audio. Metal XLR connectors, a stainless steel housing, and black Decora faceplates guarantee durability and an aesthetic appearance.

Functionality

  • 2 XLR (female) microphone/line inputs converted to 2 Dante transmission channels
  • 2 XLR (male) microphone/line outputs from 2 Dante receiving channels
  • Dante network: 100Mb/s Ethernet, RJ45 socket with Link and Speed indicators
  • Sampling frequency 44.1kHz and 48kHz (default 48kHz), 24-bit resolution
  • Operating level -20dBFS = +4dBu, reference level 0dBFS = +24dBu
  • Microphone gain: 40dB, 48dB, or 62dB
  • Line gain: 0dB, 8dB, or 19dB
  • Maximum input level: microphone -16dBu, -24dBu, or -38dBu; line +24dBu, +12dBu, or +5dBu

  • CMRR >65dB (50-120Hz)
  • Frequency response of inputs and outputs: 20Hz-20kHz (±0.5dB)
  • THD+N <0.1% (20Hz-20kHz), typically 0.015% at 1kHz
  • Balanced outputs: line level +4dBu, max. +24dBu; microphone level -45dBu (50dB attenuation)
  • Output impedance 150Ω, balanced
  • Output noise: < -80dB below +4dBu, < -100dB below +24dBu
  • Dynamic range of outputs above +4dBu: 20dB
  • Crosstalk below noise level between inputs and between outputs
  • 24-bit A/C and C/A processing, discrete microphone preamps, RDL analog filtering
  • Configuration via switches, no special software required
