The RDL DB-TPR1A is a single-pair audio receiver module from Radio Design Labs, designed for use in RDL Format-A systems, where audio signals and power are transmitted over twisted pair cables. The module features a black front panel laminate that fits well with dark interior finishes and installations. The device is mounted in wall boxes, racks, and other enclosures with access for connecting external devices, including RDL WB-1U and WB-2U boxes as well as standard American electrical boxes. A switch on the rear panel selects the pair (A, B, or C) of the Format-A cable from which the signal is sent to the balanced XLR output. The output level is set with a second switch to either microphone or line level. The passthrough of all pairs through 2 RJ45 sockets allows for additional receivers to be connected, and the bridging input circuits support up to 10 receiver outputs per cable pair. The module can draw power via the twisted pair cable or locally from 24V DC. Active, precision balanced circuits of studio quality ensure sound quality that matches or exceeds that of shielded cabling.
