RDL D-SH1M – Stereo Headphone Amplifier with VCA Level Control
The RDL D-SH1M is a professional stereo headphone amplifier designed for AV installations, museums, interview studios, listening stations, and simultaneous interpretation systems. It drives headphones of any impedance from either professional or consumer audio sources.
The module features balanced/unbalanced left and right inputs with switch-selectable input sensitivity and stereo/mono operation. In mono mode, the left input feeds both output channels, simplifying wiring in monaural systems.
A long-life front-panel potentiometer controls matched VCAs, ensuring smooth, noise-free level adjustment without passing audio directly through the control. The amplifier delivers over 50 mW into high or low impedance headphones. The headphone output is provided via a mini-jack connector. The unit operates from a 24 V DC ground-referenced power supply.
