The Niveo Professional NMC1012R is a compact media converter that converts Gigabit Ethernet signals from copper cable to multimode fiber. It has one 10/100/1000Base-T RJ45 port and one 1000Base-SX fiber port with an SC connector, operating at a wavelength of 850nm. The optical connection reaches up to 220m over 62.5/125μm fiber and up to 550m over 50/125μm fiber. This makes the converter well-suited for connecting switches, rack cabinets, and network devices within a building or campus. The converter complies with IEEE 802.3ab and IEEE 802.3z standards. It operates in Full-Duplex mode with a transmission speed of 2000Mb/s. The copper port supports auto-negotiation and Auto-MDI/MDI-X, simplifying installation without additional configuration. LEDs indicate link status and transmission on each port, as well as device power.
