Description

Niveo Professional NGSME24T2H-AV - managed PoE+ L2+ AV switch, 24 Gigabit Ethernet ports at the back and 2 SFP ports, PoE budget 500W (Current Sharing)

Niveo Professional NGSME24T2H-AV is a fully managed PoE+ Layer 2+ switch with 24 10/100/1000Base-T ports located at the back of the chassis and 2 SFP slots for 100M/1G, totaling 26 ports. The rear ports facilitate neat cabling in rack cabinets alongside other AV devices. The RJ45 ports support PoE+ power according to IEEE 802.3af/at with up to 30W per port and a range of up to 100m. The Current Sharing technology allows two internal power modules to work together and provide a PoE power budget of 500W. If one module fails, the other takes over and continues to supply 250W. When devices then require more power, the switch first powers the ports with the highest priority. The switch powers access points, IP cameras, and other network devices directly through the existing LAN cable. The SFP slots allow connection of servers, storage, or other switches via fiber over long distances and also support 100M modules. This is a good choice for larger AV installations, monitoring, and wireless networks.

The L2+ management package includes up to 4K VLAN 802.1Q networks, QinQ, Protocol VLAN, Private VLAN, MVR, QoS with 8 queues, IPv4/IPv6 multicast filtering with IGMP and MLD Snooping, RSTP and MSTP protocols, LACP, LLDP, sFlow, port mirroring, and cable diagnostics. Security is ensured by HTTPS and SSH, MAC address binding to ports, 802.1X access control, web and MAC address-based authentication, AAA authentication with RADIUS and TACACS+ servers, and ACL lists. The PD Alive Check function periodically checks the powered device, e.g., an IP camera, by its IP address. If the device does not respond, the switch restarts the port power. Out-of-band management is provided via the CLI console port, while in-band management is done through SNMP and the Web GUI.

Functionality

  • PoE+ power IEEE 802.3af/at on 24 ports - up to 30W per port, range up to 100m
  • PoE power budget: 500W (Current Sharing)
  • Current Sharing - two power modules working together; upon failure of one, the other supplies 250W
  • port power priority - when power is limited, the highest priority ports are powered first
  • PoE management for each port: on/off, priority, maximum port and system power, PoE mode
  • PD device classification and PoE status monitoring
  • PD Alive Check / Self healing - automatic restart of unresponsive device power
  • VLAN: 4K groups, tagged and port-based VLANs, QinQ, Voice VLAN, Private VLAN, MVR, MAC-based VLAN, Protocol-based VLAN
  • Spanning Tree: IEEE 802.1D-2004 (including 802.1w RSTP), 802.1s (MSTP)
  • loop detection
