PTZ Camera Control in the HARVEY® System - New DSPECIALISTS Feature Debuts at LEaT con Hamburg

HARVEY is a flexible audio and media control matrix that serves as a key component in conference, theatre and multimedia installations around the world. Until now, the system enabled centralized control of audio, lighting and multimedia equipment from a single platform. With the latest update, DSPECIALISTS extends these capabilities by adding full integration of PTZ cameras with other AV systems within a facility.

The new feature enables, among other things:

• automatic camera repositioning, for example in response to an automixer detecting a person speaking into a specific microphone,
• saving and recalling predefined camera position and zoom presets, demonstrated using the Telycam Vision+ 4KN 30X camera,
• simultaneous triggering of audio, lighting, media and camera functions with a single button press,
• creation of timed sequences and automated camera movements configured using a drag-and-drop workflow in HARVEY-Composer,
• safeguards against unintended switching, such as long button presses and configurable time delays.

Camera control is implemented using the standard VISCA protocol via serial or network interfaces, while the control logic is configured in the “Logic » Serial” block of HARVEY-Composer. The solution can be operated through RC wall panels, the HARVEY Touch interface, or third-party control systems.

The new functionality is designed for use in conference rooms, theatres, churches, restaurants, hotels and other multifunctional venues, where PTZ cameras are increasingly being used for event recording and live streaming.

A live demonstration of the PTZ Camera Control integration with the HARVEY® system will be showcased at the DSPECIALISTS booth (A1-F19) during leat con Hamburg, taking place on 6-8 October 2026.
