Radio Frequencies for Wireless Microphones in Poland
Due to changes in telecommunications law, mainly resulting from the European agreement allocating the so-called 700 MHz band to 5G communications, many older wireless microphone systems and In-Ear stage monitors may operate unstably or may no longer be used legally.
Which Band Is Not Permitted
According to the Regulation of the Minister of Digital Affairs of 9 February 2022 on radio transmitting or transmitting-receiving devices that may be used without a radio licence (Journal of Laws 2022, item 567, as amended), since 1 July 2022 the use of wireless microphones operating in the 694-790 MHz band (the so-called 700 MHz band) is not permitted.
What Penalties Apply
Using a radio device without the required licence is punishable under Article 447 of the Polish Electronic Communications Law (in force since 10 November 2024) by a fine of PLN 500 to PLN 5,000. If the offender acts persistently, the penalty is a fine, restriction of liberty or imprisonment for up to 2 years.
What to Do with an Older System
Before continuing to use a system, check the frequency range stated on the rating plate or in the manual of the transmitter and receiver. If the system operates in the 694-790 MHz band, it should be replaced with a device working in a legal range - for example Relacart UR-290D series sets operating in the 518-582 MHz band.
We invite you to explore our range of ready-to-use wireless microphone kits, which operate in legal bands and will ensure stable operation for many years.
