The KME IPS 12 B is a black, passive 2-way speaker column from the Fisco series by the German manufacturer Klingenthaler Musikelektronik (KME). It is the larger and louder sister of the IPS 10 model, designed for installations with higher sound reinforcement requirements. It can operate as a full-range system or as the upper section of a system with a subwoofer. The 12" woofer works with a 1" compression driver with a 1.4" voice coil, mounted in a rotating horn waveguide with an elliptical exit. This allows the dispersion angle of 85°x55° to be adjusted for horizontal or vertical mounting. With an efficiency of 97dB and a maximum SPL of 122dB, it achieves a high volume level with a power handling of 350W (AES) and 700W (program), and the frequency response ranges from 60Hz to 20kHz. The symmetrical design and integrated hardware allow for connecting columns in horizontal and vertical clusters. The natural, clear sound with smooth, balanced highs and low susceptibility to acoustic feedback works well for both music and speech. The column is intended for multifunctional halls, entertainment venues, theaters, and smaller sports facilities. Neutrik Speakon NL4 and Phoenix connectors, a durable grille with acoustic foam, an IP44 protection rating, and resistance to ball impacts according to DIN 18032-3 ensure reliable operation. An optional 100V transformer allows the column to be integrated into a public address system.
