Intusonic INTUGRID™ DIU485 - RS‑485-USB interface for Intusonic systems

The Intusonic INTUGRID™ DIU485 is a compact RS‑485–USB interface designed as an essential installation tool for Intusonic audio control systems based on the INTUGRID™ bus. The device accommodates the reversed data line polarity used in the INTUGRID™ topology, enabling seamless communication with all compatible matrices, panels, and paging stations. The DIU485 allows for full remote control of INTUGRID™ devices, their configuration, diagnostics, and firmware updates, making it a key component for professional AV system installers.

The interface is used to configure parameters such as input names, source labels, and device identifiers, and also allows for manual command triggering for service purposes. It can be used to test system communication, significantly speeding up the commissioning and verification process of the installation. Thanks to the use of the popular FTDI FT232RL chipset, the DIU485 is compatible with most operating systems and provides stable and predictable performance during data transmission.

The interface is equipped with ESD protection, safeguarding data lines against electrostatic discharges up to 15kV, ensuring the resilience necessary in professional installation environments. On the computer side, the DIU485 uses a USB‑A connector and is powered directly from the USB port, while the INTUGRID™ side is implemented through an RJ45 connector, allowing connection to up to 32 system devices using standard CAT5/CAT6 cable.
