Description

Barix X8 - TTL I/O RS-485 Modbus/RTU Module for Automation, AV, and Monitoring

Barix X8 is a compact and versatile I/O module designed for AV control systems, building automation, and remote infrastructure monitoring. It features eight independent TTL-level digital input/output channels, each configurable and equipped with programmable pull-up resistors. Each input can support a Dallas 1-Wire temperature sensor, enabling localized environmental data collection.

Communication with host systems is handled via a 2-wire RS-485 interface with Modbus/RTU protocol support, making the X8 an ideal Modbus I/O converter for integration into commercial control networks. Additionally, the module supports Wiegand interface functionality using two of its I/O channels.

Functionality

  • 8 configurable TTL-level digital input/output channels
  • programmable pull-up resistors on all I/O lines
  • 1-Wire temperature sensor support (1 sensor per input)
  • RS-485 interface with Modbus/RTU protocol (2-wire)
  • Wiegand interface compatibility (2 I/O channels)
  • designed for AV, automation, and monitoring applications

Features

  • I/O integration in AV and building automation systems
  • remote monitoring of rooms, facilities, and critical infrastructure
  • local temperature sensing via Barix TS 1-Wire sensors
  • TTL to Modbus/RTU signal conversion
  • use in access control, environmental systems, and HVAC
  • compact design - easy installation in control cabinets
  • reliable operation in commercial and industrial environments

Barix X8 is a flexible and reliable solution for professional AV, automation, and monitoring installations, enabling system expansion with additional I/O and local environmental sensing.
