Contacta IL-A42 Induction Loop Amplifier Module for Kiosks and Self-Service Terminals

The Contacta IL-A42 is a compact induction loop amplifier designed for integration into information kiosks, ticket machines, digital signage totems, and other self-service terminals. It provides effective hearing support for users with hearing aids equipped with a T-coil, enhancing accessibility in public environments.



The module accepts a standard 1 V RMS line-level audio signal (typical output from a mini PC sound card). It can also be connected to low-impedance loudspeaker lines or 100V speaker lines. The IL-A42 features dual input/output audio connections, simplifying integration into existing audio paths. Built-in AGC (Automatic Gain Control) ensures consistent output without the need for manual adjustment.

The output connects to a pre-assembled IL-AE99 loop or a custom loop made of insulated wire mounted around the display. The effective coverage radius is approximately 1.2 meters.

The unit is powered by a 14 V DC / 2 A power supply. To verify system functionality, the IL-RX20 loop receiver with headphones is used, allowing testers to hear the transmitted signal as experienced by a hearing aid user with T-coil.

The IL-A42 is also available in compact housed versions with an integrated loop. The IL-EL42-PF (flush-mounted) and IL-EL42-PB (surface-mounted) models meet IP55 rating and are suitable for outdoor kiosk applications.
