Description

One of the key purposes of installing induction loops in information kiosks, digital totems and other self‑service devices is to improve the accessibility of public services provided by offices and courts. These solutions enhance access to information for people with special needs, including individuals with hearing impairments.

Contacta IL-A42 is an induction loop amplifier module designed for integration into such devices. It allows information kiosks, terminals or totems to be easily equipped with hearing assistance functionality for users of hearing aids and cochlear implants with a T‑coil.

The amplifier accepts a standard line‑level audio signal of 1V RMS (typical output from a mini PC sound card). It is also possible to take the signal from a low‑impedance loudspeaker line or even a 100V line. The duplicated audio input/output simplifies integration with the existing audio source and amplifier within the device. The module includes AGC (Automatic Gain Control), which continuously adjusts the output level, eliminating the need for manual calibration.

The amplifier output connects to a ready‑made loop IL-AE99 or a loop made from insulated wire installed as a frame around the display. The module is powered by a 14V DC / 2A power supply. When installed around the screen, the loop provides an effective operating range of approximately 1.2 metres.

The IL-RX20 receiver with headphones is used to verify proper system operation. When wearing the headphones, the tester hears exactly what a person using a hearing aid with a T‑coil would hear.

Also available are complete IL-A42 modules housed in a compact enclosure with an integrated loop. If the device has enough internal space, installation is reduced to cutting an appropriate opening and connecting the signal and power. The PF version (flush-mounted, aligned with the device housing) and the PB version (surface-mounted) feature an IP55 rating, enabling use in devices designed for outdoor applications.
