RDL D‑NVC2 and D‑TPSML1A - New Dante and Format‑A Solutions for Professional AV Systems
2025-08-19Radio Design Labs (RDL), a globally recognised manufacturer of professional audio interfaces and Dante® solutions, has expanded its product portfolio with two new devices: the D‑NVC2 universal Dante volume controller and the D‑TPSML1A active Format‑A transmitter with mic/line input. Both products are now commercially available and address key requirements of modern, network‑based AV installations. The new releases reinforce RDL’s focus on interoperability, system flexibility and ease of integration in professional AV environments.

D-NVC2 - Universal Dante Volume Controller
The D‑NVC2 is the world’s first universal volume control device for Dante audio networks, compatible with any Dante audio stream, regardless of manufacturer. This makes it a unique and highly practical solution for professional AV systems where multiple Dante‑enabled devices from different vendors coexist.
The D‑NVC2 enables precise, local level control within Audio‑over‑IP installations, giving system designers and integrators the ability to provide intuitive volume adjustment without modifying DSP programming or central control logic. This approach increases system flexibility while maintaining full compatibility with existing Dante infrastructure.
Typical applications include conference rooms, education facilities, corporate spaces and multi‑zone commercial installations where local audio control is required without compromising network architecture.

D-TPSML1A - Active Format-A Transmitter with Mic/Line Input
The D‑TPSML1A expands the RDL Format‑A product family by introducing an active transmitter with switchable microphone or line‑level input on a standard XLR connector. This versatility allows the device to accommodate a wide range of audio sources, from handheld and gooseneck microphones to line‑level outputs from external equipment.
By enabling seamless integration of analogue audio sources into Format‑A systems, the D‑TPSML1A provides system designers with greater deployment flexibility and simplifies system adaptation to varying project requirements. It is well suited for distributed audio systems where decentralised input points are required while maintaining consistent signal quality.
Consistent Design and Installation Flexibility
Both the D‑NVC2 and D‑TPSML1A are available in three finish variants:
- white (D‑xx),
- black (DB‑xx),
- stainless steel (DS‑xx).
This allows visual consistency across installations and ensures aesthetic compatibility with a wide range of architectural and interior design environments.
Q-SYS Integration - New Plug-Ins Available
To further support system integrators, RDL has released dedicated Q‑SYS plug‑ins for selected product ranges. The new plug‑ins support devices from the DD‑RN, DD‑BTN44 and D‑BTN21 series, enabling straightforward integration into Q‑SYS‑based AV control environments.
These plug‑ins simplify configuration, improve workflow efficiency and make it easier to incorporate RDL devices into large‑scale, networked AV systems built on the Q‑SYS platform.
